Rochester...

Rochester... what a fantastic weekend I had teaching for Maureen at the Quilting Patch.  Saturday was filled with stitchery and this was the project ' Snowy's Sleigh Ride'..

It is a little tablerunner completed using four different cottage garden threads.

Then on Sunday the girls started an applique project 'String the Stockings'

many of the girls had not attempted needleturn applique before so it was great to see their achievements at the end of the day.

I also released a new pattern 'Santa and his friends'

It was a fabulous weekend and lovely to meet so many new ladies!!!

Stitching Soiree...

Planning is well underway for the next soiree on the 25th of October.  This time i am joined by the lovely Katie from Cottage Garden Threads - so you can be assured that there will be plenty of yummy cottage garden threads for you to see! there will also be lots of new designs for you and delicious food as well as some presents and surprises as well.  This one is being held in Bayswater and there are only limited spaces still available so if you can come please contact me...

Quilters Retreat

The quilters retreat is over for another year and what a fabulous weekend it was.  It was lovely to catch up with some many of you who have now become friends and also some newies.  Lots of laughing, eating and some stitching was done!!!

The projects i gave the girls in their kits were 'Treasures at the Tree' tablerunner

 

'A Very Merry Gift Bag' which includes a pre-printed panel

and 'Merry Christmas Ornaments' which includes the pre-printed panel for the four ornaments

I also released a new booklet 'Christmas Treasures' which includes a quilt and ornaments

Craft and Quilt Fair

Well it has been a fantastic four days at the Melbourne Craft and Quilt Fair.  It was lovely to meet so many of you.  i released a few new quilts at the show. 

Here is 'Deck The Halls'.  I really enjoyed doing the red work on this one.

and 'Tree Top Lane' incorporates some yummy felt

and now i am off to start on the projects for my stitching day with Marg Low...

 

The Soiree

It has been so terribly hot outside lucky that there is always stitching to be done!  I am well in to planning for the next soiree on the 5th of April.  There are only a few spots left so if you would like to join me please email me for the details.  It will be another lovely day of stitching, eating (lots of eating), laughing and good friends.  I hope you can join us. 

I am looking forward to a lovely day tomorrow down at Phillip Island for their stitch in.  Hopefully there will be lots of familiar faces as well as some newies...

A long time coming...

Wow, it has been a long time since i last posted but i tend to post a lot more on Facebook these days! Anyway, i hope that everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Years. 

I have a couple of new tablerunners to show you.  This one is called 'Gathering at the Tree'.  I used a Moda charm pack 'Midwinter Reds'. I know its early for a Christmas project but it was the January project for a Christmas Club being run by The Stitching Post in Katoomba and if you started it now you would be able to do a few before Christmas!!!

This is the other table runner 'Apple Blossom'

I used the French General fabrics again because i love them.  This range is 'Josephine' but it really lends itself to being scrappy so you could use lots of different fabrics.  I also used some yummy wool felt for the apple trees and of course Cottage Garden Threads.  I hope you like them xxx

Quilt Market

Quilt market is over for another year - which means the year is almost over -yikes!!!

It was great to catch up with other designers and see that we all had busy frantic years and next years diaries are already filling up.  The buzz is always exciting and i walk away exhausted but inspired and looking forward to another fantastic year next year.

I released a few new patterns at market . Firstly, 'Angel wings' my new book which has this quilt

and this wallhanging

Then there is 'Orchard Hill'

'Santa's Treat Mat' to put Santas milk and cookies on

and two new pre-printed designs printed on quilters muslin - 'Rudolph and Robin'

and finally 'Home Sweet Home' stitched in cottage garden threads 'Sweet Water' -yummy!

Stitching soiree...

What a fantastic weekend we had for the stitching soiree.  Thank you to all of the lovely ladies who came along and made it such a great two days.  The room was a hive of activity, although i have to say productivity wise the Sunday girls one - there must have been too much talking, laughing and eating on the Saturday!!!

Here are the projects that the girls received in their bags. 'Twas the night before Christmas' comes as a pre-printed stitchery with the wool felt to complete the reindeer and the trees.  Pre-printed definately saves lots of time and gets a big thumbs up from the girls!

Then there was this little 'Pudding mat' made out of felt.  So you could use it to put a candle on in the centre of the table, or a mini christmas tree maybe...

and my last project was 'Hang a little Star'.  A lap quilt especially for you at christmas...

So, that is all of my three projects but in their goodie bags the girls also received three patterns and a kit from Kerry Gillespie of 'My Favorite Things' and  a cute little sewing kit with scissors, tape measure, thimble and needles and a great Christmas cookie cutter. And, i am very excited to announce that the next soiree will be on Saturday 5th of April 2014 so if you would like to come please email me.

And finally, i released a new pattern on the weekend called 'Snow Buddies'...

Port Campbell

What a beautiful place for a workshop.  I would have been happy to stay down on the beach for a couple of weeks.  Linda from Gum Valley Patchwork put on such a wonderful retreat with the girls all getting there very own handmade bag!!!  It was my first time teaching with Marg Low and we had a wonderful time.  My first project was 'birds in bloom'

and the second one was 'Spring Tulips' a cute little tote and needlecase using Cottage Garden Threads

Thank you to all the lovely ladies it was a thoroughly enjoyable time and i will definately be coming down your way soon for a holiday

A day in the country

I spent a lovely day on Sunday at Candleberry with a fantastic group of ladies.  Everyone was excited and even the fact that it was fathers day didn't stop them!!!  Nicole did a great job of decorating the hall with Tilda everywhere and the food was magnificent.  We got to eat and drink off vintage china all day it was lovely.  These are the projects i had for the ladies
